Definiations:
Banking runs - Alerting the umpiring team's crew cheif that a team's run will not longer go towards the current game and will instead be saved for a future game.
Rules:
Teams can only bank runs during 1/2 inning breaks (Before the top of and inning or before the bottom of an inning)
Once a team decides to bank runs, the decision cannot be reversed.
Team will indicate how many runs they want to withdraw prior to the games start while exchanging lineup cards.
The maximum number of banked runs a team can withdraw before a game is 1/3 of their season average for runs scored in a game
If after the 9th inning the score is tied, regular extra inning rules are applied. Since extra innings is does not give a team with a lead any 1/2 innings to bank runs, there is no banking run in extra innings
The run bank does not extend past the end of the regular season. There is no banking runs in the post season.
